Tibby Rothman - artists, architects and essays
Noted Venetian writer, journalist and publisher Tibby Rothman has long been respected for her profiles of - and dialogues with - many artists in the V-SCAPE community, both established and emerging. In support of the ongoing mission of the Venice Family Clinic, Ms. Rothman will curate an exhibition ranging from the renowned to the newly discovered artists among us - from sculptors to painters to architects, and some whose work blurs such distinctions. A selection from her "arts, artists and architects" profiles, articles, commissions and blogs from, among others, LA Weekly, Huffington Post and VenicePaper will accompany the exhibition on the V-SCAPE website. A symposium on art and architecture moderated by Ms Rothman will be planned in conjunction with the exhibition.
The studio, collection and salon of Lebanese born Venice artist Huguette Caland willl host a series of events to benefit the Venice Family Clinic. The exhibition, the artist and her circle, will feature works by Caland accompanied by Bob Wilhite, Sandy Lager, Juliennse Hsu, Emily Smith, Kour Pour and others. Her extensive collection of contemporary art of two worlds, Venice and Beirut, includes Ed Moses, Tony Berlant, Charles Hill, Sam Francis and George Apostu, to name a but few. Guest to these events may gather for coctails and transportaiton from Joe's Restaurant to a gourmet dishes prepared at the artist's studio by Melisse chef invitee Brigitte Caland accopmanied by superb French wines from the collection of John Winthrop.
